Packaging Fun & Inspiration! Part Two!

Part two is here! Two weeks ago I shared how I am incorporating embossing into my packaging, you can check that out here, now I will share with you my DIY stationary! I absolutely love hand writing letters in this new age where mail is becoming more old fashioned, I am one of those people who is bummed when my mail box is empty!! I’ve been wanting to do something more for my clients, so I thought what better way then personalizing my presentation, so they are excited when they receive mail from me! I purchased envelopes that match my brand from Paper Presentation, as well as liners, though when I am ready to restock, I will be buying in person from Paper Source. While I was at Paper Source picking up embossing items, the fabulous employee gave me a quick how to on envelopes and liners. I had been planning on stick glueing the liners in, and I am sooo much happier she told me about the double sided tape roller they have, saved me so much time and mess.

What I used:
2 different colored envelopes from Paper Presentation
2 liners of opposite color from Paper Presentation
Double sided tape from Paper Source

Stamped with my custom stamp and white ink, as well as embossed! I did a mixture of regular stamps and then some are embossed with my logo.

*Not shown, I hadn’t inserted the liners or stamped/embossed many of them yet when I photographed them, they are now all down and ready to be sent out whenever a fabulous client needs anything I can mail!

Dear Addison,

Sweet child of mine, I can’t believe you are already 4 years old. How the years have flown by, and how you’ve grown in the blink of an eye. You were born in Florida but now you are a Cali girl, through and through, with your golden curls and bright blue eyes, it’s impossible not to want to give you the world. You are already so brave and so kind, and so very ambitious. Everyday you ask to be taller so that you can reach, or bigger so you can stay up late at night, and everyday I ask God to slow down the clock so I may have more time with you. I love you with all of my heart and I hope you had fun on your photo shoot, that you so sweetly bragged about to everyone.

Max + Jamie | San Diego Engagement Photographer

I met Max years ago when I was still in the Navy, in Florida. Jamie is definitely the right girl for Max and you can tell by how much fun they had with each other (and me right?? lol!) the whole session! Jamie chose Balboa Park and it ended up being the perfect backdrop for these two. Max literally just left on deployment so I am glad we were able to squeeze this in before he left! We even had a few laughs during the session because we ended up all three matching in the mint green (just like my logo!) and wondered how funny that must have looked to other people.

Packaging Fun & Inspiration! Part One!

Yay!! Part one of the three part packaging series is about embossing! I absolutely love this technique to be able to put my logo on my packaging materials, mainly gift bags and envelopes! It dries instantly and looks fabulous and professional. I purchased all of my supplies from Paper Source, except my custom stamp, I designed it and had that sent off to be made! Any stamp works with embossing, so find one you love or order a custom logo stamp, and you are set! My total costs for supplies were around $50, most items do not need to be re-purchased though, such as the heating tool or the stamp. I’ve been experimenting with different embossing powders, trying to find which fit my brand best, I am pretty happy with the response I’ve received!! Comment if you have any questions!

Katelyn James Vegas Workshop wppi

A few weeks ago I was in Las Vegas for WPPI, a convention for photographers! It was my first year, and it was fun, rad, inspirational, educational all rolled into 5 days (maybe a little overwhelming too lol!) I recently started following Katelyn James, an amazing wedding photographer based out of the East coast, and when I saw she’d be teaching a Vegas edition workshop, I prayed there were seats still open and hopped on it! Little did I know, I would win a ticket to United in Santa Barbara (a much smaller scale more intimate photographers conference for Showiteers!) two weeks before WPPI and I would see Katelyn there, teaching the same class lol! But I was happy to see it twice, that is how information it was! I hope eventually I’ll be able to join her for coaching. For now, check out the shots I grabbed during her posing class, I always wonder what it is like for the couple/model when 20 photographers are in their face, Jill and Buddy handled it amazingly lol.

The Not Wedding San Diego 2013!!! I am very excited to show this fabulous event on the blog today. So many amazing vendors came together to put on the SD NW this year, and I am honored to be apart of that! The Not Wedding, for those of you who don’t know, is a big fake wedding to inspire REAL brides!! A very rad alternative to a bridal show, where you get to actually see vendors in action. Wes + Casey | Fresno Wedding Photographer

Woooo!! I’m only in my 13th month of business (yes I’m counting!! lol!) and I already get to cross off one of my biggest photography bucket list shoots, a shoot with a horse!! I’ve been talking to Casey for months and I am so excited we were able to make both of our dreams come true with this horse ranch engagement session. A HUGE thank you to Copper Creek Arena for being so generous and allowing us to shoot on their property and even lending us a horse. Casey used to ride in college and Wes is just an all around sweet fiance, together the two made for a super fun session. I can not wait for your wedding in Lake Tahoe this summer!!
