I’m a natural light, on-location, custom photographer. What does that mean? I shoot outdoors at a location that you and I have chosen! Or if you are booking a newborn session, you choose, come to my home studio or I bring my things and set up in the coziness of your own home. That way you may relax while I take care of your custom shoot. A typical session may find us walking through downtown, wandering through a field, toes in the sand or taking advantage of a lifestyle shoot in your home.
I enjoy a vintage touch but I also like to use crisp, clean color. I love the glow of an early morning sunrise and the captivating luminescence of a sunset. By capturing the absolute essence of you and your natural expressions we will create the memories you truly cherish! We’ll take some of the posed portraits, but I try to focus on capturing you for who you really are. I’m open minded and love to hear your ideas, it is your memories we’re capturing after all!
Once you’ve booked your session and we’ve agreed on a location, it will be your turn to start preparing. To begin you can think about wardrobe. Does it compliment your personality? How does it work with the location you’ve picked? I suggest wearing layers so you can change it up quickly! Any other important things you’d like to include in your session? If you have any questions or desire for ideas on outfits please don’t hesitate to ask me!
Before your session, you’ll need to fill out a lifestyle contract. Contracts are mandatory and not only protect my work, but they protect your rights as well. It is important that you read it thoroughly and have it signed before your session begins.
The big day! I will call or email you the day before your session to confirm what we have agreed upon. If there is anything that I need to know before hand, this would be the time to let me know. If you’ve booked a family session, first we’ll focus on getting that group family shot. Then some of just the kids, then mom & dad, etc. Children lose interest fast so it is important that we make them priority and have those shots taken before they’ve burned out. It all goes by so fast!
When the session is over, once home, I sort through the images, throwing out the bad. On average, there is a 2 week estimated time for processing and editing. We will discuss if you’d like to do any custom ordering for products that I offer such as canvas prints, accordion books (perfect for brag books for the grandparents!) or custom albums. Once processed I will deliver your disk of images and custom products if you’ve ordered any.

I know you took a million pictures, why can’t I see them all?
All of the images I’ll prepare for you are the ones that have met or exceeded my standard for what I deem high-quality images and what represents myself as a photographer. I automatically discard images that are not acceptable – such as ones where blinks occur, motion-induced focus issues, and unflattering poses. It is a part of my workflow so that I can provide you with only the best, fully edited and deliverable images to you. I promise X number of images and I anticipate on being able to meet/exceed that expectation.
